Reading range is much wider than a traditional refractometer, instantly displaying the reading clearly on the digital LED display. It provides a fast, clean and accurate RI test without the need to use RI liquids like the traditional system.

It also has the ability to differentiate diamonds, moissanites and other diamond similes such as Zircon, Yac and other transparent or translucent gems.

The software incorporates a database of more than 50 common gems with their nomenclature, properties and possible origins, as well as a program that allows the user to enter the known characteristics of the gems such as color, SG value (specific gravity) and the hardness.
